In another life I was a professional communicator for a NSW Government natural resource management agency, a regional university, a politician and in a freelance capacity. In 2000 I returned to study and in 2005 graduated with a Resource and Environmental Management degree from ANU. On graduating I worked for the Commonwealth Government on climate change adaptation for biodiversity. I joined the ACT NRM Council in February 2008, and am working particularly on communication and community engagement related to the Council's Draft Natural Resources Management Plan. With my AGNRM colleagues and the Indigenous member of the ACT NRM Council, I am also seeking to engage the ACT and region Indigenous community further in NRM in the ACT.
