Claire Harris worked with the Knowledge for Regional NRM Program from September 2007 to June 2008 when Phase 2 of the Program concluded. Her work included Writing articles, updating the website, planning events and promotional ideas, offering guidance on communication topics and challenges, and contributing to activities such as the Gotta question? service and the decision approach advisory trial tender. The Knowledge for Regional NRM Program won a Platinum Award in the 2008 actKM Forum Knowledge Management Awards.
Claire has a degree in environmental science and has studied science communication post-graduately. Past work experiences include:
- Six months in the UK working with Defra (Dept of Environment, Food & Rural Affairs) in the Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathy research section
- Two and 1/2 years working with the Coastal CRC on a decision support tool for monitoring and modelling coastal waters
- Qld EPA Water Sciences area
- Qld DPI Fisheries research area.
Travelling for 6 months in Europe and the Middle East in 2006/07 is definitely a top memory... Something to be repeated somewhere else on the planet in the near future.
