From September 2006 to end June 2008 Melanie Randall was a member of the Knowledge for Regional NRM Program at Land & Water Australia in Canberra. The Knowledge for Regional NRM Program won a Platinum Award in the 2008 actKM Forum Knowledge Management Awards.

Melanie was particularly involved in the development of the Regional Knowledge Resource Kit and in engagement with five pilot regional NRM bodies that utilised the resources of the RKRK to develop their own Regional Knowledge Strategies. As part of a training team of 3 (Bruce Boyes, Nerida Hart and Melanie) she delivered training in the process to facilitate a Regional Knowledge Strategy to regional NRM bodies, AG NRM and State team members, Research and Development Corporations and Cooperative Research Centres in 11 locations around Australia between December 2007 and June 2008.

The Knowledge for Regional Program at Land & Water Australia ceased on 30 June 2008 and Melanie has left Land & Water Australia.
